Fire Add Former Houston Duck to Offensive Line

ESTERO, FL – The Gulf Coast Fire of the A-League is pleased to announce the signing of offensive lineman Damien Parris. Parris is a graduate of the University of Houston and a Fort Myers, FL native. He prepped at Florida Christian Institute in Fort Myers and played under then head coach Brent Burnside.

 

After High School he attended Contra Costa Community College in California and the University of Houston. In 2015 Parris appeared in eight games for Houston while making a start in the game against Tulane, while providing depth on the offensive line. He helped the running backs to 239 yards on the ground and four rushing scores in his start. He also helped contribute to a team that ranked 10th nationally in scoring offense (40.4 points per game), 13th nationally in rushing offense (235.8 yards per game) and 20th nationally in total offense (484.1 yards per game).

 

Following his senior season he was selected to participate in the College Gridiron Showcase. Damien has a few years of professional experience. He has played for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, Carolina Cobras of the NAL, Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the IFL, The Houston Ducks of the Crafl and last season played in the upstart Your Call Football League.
